What is an Inspection & Test Plan (ITP)?
Ada satu dokumen wajib semua inspector kena faham — Inspection & Test Plan (ITP). Pernah tengok, tapi tak ramai faham struktur & cara gunanya.
Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) ialah dokumen Quality Assurance yang menyusun semua checkpoint inspection & testing mengikut urutan kerja. Ini termasuk:
Bila perlu inspect
Apa perlu inspect
Siapa perlu hadir
Code & standard mana ikut
Acceptance criteria
Form/rekod yang perlu disediakan
Ringkasnya: ITP = pelan perjalanan quality satu projek.
Content Required in an ITP
Header / Project Information
Project Name
Project Number / Contract Number
Package / System / Area
Discipline (Piping / Welding / Mechanical / Civil / Coating)
Document Title (Inspection & Test Plan)
Document Number
Revision No. & Revision Date
Prepared / Checked / Approved By
Company Name & Client Name
Project Location
Ini memang standard EPC, vendor & fabricator.
Main ITP Table — Struktur Sebenar
Activity / Process
Reference Documents
Code & Standard
Acceptance Criteria
Inspection / Test Method
Inspection Level (H / W / M(S) / R)
Responsibility (Contractor / TPI / Client)
Records / Forms Required
Remarks (jika perlu)
Setiap baris adalah satu checkpoint quality.
Understanding the ITP Codes
Maksud H / W / M(S) / R
H – Hold Point: Kerja mesti berhenti sehingga Client release. Checkpoint paling kritikal.
W – Witness Point: Client/QC diberi notis. Jika tak hadir ikut notis, kerja boleh diteruskan tetapi evidence wajib lengkap.
M(S) – Monitoring / Surveillance: Spot check / pemantauan. Kerja tak perlu berhenti.
R – Review: Semakan dokumen: MRIR, WPS, WQT, MTC, NDT report, drawing, dll.
Common Forms/Records Related to ITP

Alignment record
Torque/tension report
Installation checklist

Rule utama: Jika client bagi template, ikut 100%. Jika tidak, format standard seperti ini digunakan.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Kesilapan Yang Biasa Terjadi
❌ Tak baca ITP sebelum mula kerja
❌ Tak faham maksud H/W/M/R
❌ Acceptance criteria ikut “agak-agak”
❌ Rekod tak lengkap
❌ Panik bila client dah sampai
Inspector power ialah yang faham logik setiap checkpoint, bukan yang hanya hafal.
Conclusion
In conclusion, understanding and implementing an Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) is crucial for ensuring quality in construction projects. By following the guidelines and avoiding common mistakes, we can enhance our inspection processes. Remember, the key to success lies in thorough preparation and clear communication.
Let's strive for excellence in our projects! 🌟
